Sleeping With The Enemy!

This scenario sounds familiar...

You or your family members, or even your children waking up on some mornings with a bout of constant sneezing. On some days, they wake up experiencing some kind of allergy-related symtpoms like eczema, bronchitis, sinus, itchy red eyes or even sudden fatigue or feelings of depression.

Chances are...you may be sleeping with the enemy!

So who really is this enemy we're talking here?

As you've already knew by now, it's called a Dust Mite!

In every home, there could be millions of them & they are invisible to the naked eye. These tiny bugs measure about 1/100th of an inch in length, which is even smaller than the "full-stop" at the end of this sentence. As many as 1000s of them could be placed on the head of a pin!

They feed on dead skin cells, mind you! The faeces & dead bodies of these dust mites can bring about allergic reactions in some people thus causing conditions such as astma, dermatitis, constant sneezing etc.

And guess where are some of the favorite breeding spots for these trouble-makers? It's the mattresses, carpets, pillows & blankets in your home...just to name a few!

Why these places? Simply because these places are warm, cosy & moist, & stocked up in abundance with their favourite delicacy, which is dead skin cells shed from human beings daily.

I guess it's enough of their description at this juncture. I'll bring you more facts about them at my next post :)
